Friday Faves

Hey friends! I hope you are all well. I wanted to share a few favorites lately.  We haven’t done much other than work, sleep, beach haha but I am not mad about it!

1. I am loving all positive mantras and things!  This crazy time of our lives is something for the books I tell ya!  I have been staying off news channels and most of social media (unless I’m connecting with like-minded people and sharing our business!) I can’t tell you HOW MUCH THAT MATTERS!  When I log into FB and see the ranting, raving, the mask discussions, political this and that–#overit

I focus on my family, health, finances and that is about it! I’m really loving instagram and finding fellow real estate investors across the country who are focused on their goals and not worrying so much about whether or not someone where’s a mask in their car.  (It’s really none of our business!)

2.  I tried Hello Fresh for the last two weeks and all I can say is, YES!! Yes it is worth the money, yes it is worth not being stressed out to figure out “What do I cook for dinner?!” You guys, I was literally turning to frozen meals 1-3x a week because the state of our life is so chaotic right now.  I can only attribute it to “birthing a baby” in a sense.  When you own your own business and work for yourselves, and then GROW said business, it’s overwhelming.  I know when we get all systems up and running, it will be grand but for now–it’s fasten your seatbelts and GO TIME.

With that said, we have tried things we haven’t really done before (or in a long time!).  I’ve learned a few little hacks which are always to have on hand!  Last night we did burgers with onion/tomato jam, and a delicious mayo/sour cream/roasted garlic spread….TO DIE FOR with the homemade potato fries!

Here we did the mozzarella/panko chicken breasts— SO easy and yummy!! Green beans and couscous came in the meal, and I threw in extra bread sticks from Aldi, because my kiddos love them.

Here’s a link for $40 off your box!!

3. My birthday last week!!  I spent the day in the sun with my sis and my neighbor came over as we all hung out in the driveway. It was a beautiful day!

How cool is this candle from my Dad & step mom?

My sis knows me SO well–pretty pink wrapping, a bottle of Rosé, Starbucks gift card and a fabulous candle too!!  My mom gifted me some birthday money and I treated myself to a brand new Robe.

4.  I enjoyed these Hey Mama rosé in a can!  They DO pack a punch….you can’t drink too many because it has a lot of alcohol, so careful on that one! You can order some here.  Be sure to use my code JENND10 for a coupon!  I also love this suit from Venus and my necklace isS&D. My sunnies are Ray Bans, but I found these cute dupes on Amazon for under $20!!!!

5.  I’m obsessed with this lipstick and lip gloss !! It’s my daily go to and I just love the feel and haven’t had any issues with dry lips–wahoo!!

Tell me, what are you loving lately!?

5 on Friday

Happy FRI-Yay friends!! Happy. May!!

(Yes, I’m actually posting this on Saturday, but hey, better late than NEVER, am I right?!)

1. I sincerely enjoy my “Thursdays” now! Joe and I have so much fun going Live on Facebook talking all things real estate, credit, Rent to Own, and just chit chat about life! If you’re around, check us out at 3:00 pm EST.  If you know me, you know that I love getting dolled up, putting on a cute outfit, doing my hair and makeup…so this actually gives me somewhat of a reason to! I may have enjoyed a little glass of Rosé as well!
2. Do you have an obsession with cheese too?  No? Just me…ugh! I just want all the cheese all the time.  I have recognized the problem and am trying to work on it, but I had to share how much I love Burrata!  I sliced some tomatoes, added some cheese, basil and a little balsamic glaze and olive oil.  Don’t worry, I served with Dino Nuggets and Gluten Free nuggets because I’m super fancy like that.

3.  My lil sis celebrated her birthday this past week and I am declaring that when we are able to, we will go out for a delicious dinner and some fabulous draaaanks.  It was nice to see her for a bit, we stayed outside and chatted social distance-style.  I made her a quiche (she loved it!) gave her some wine, a good book to read and some quarters for laundry. I also shared some Brookie Cookies and she loved them too!

4.  I don’t know about you, but we have cooked over 50 days (usually 2-3 meals a day) and I am getting burned out!! I love to cook, but oh my gosh, what else can I learn to make? What can I feed our family, yet again!? Lucky for me, I am hosting a fun little Tastefully Simple Party via Zoom this Sunday.  My girl Cathy has all the dinner ideas we need right now!  From snacks, healthy to desserts that are a little treat, there is something for everyone! I miss restaurants but this is second best! If you are needing any fun recipe ideas, seasonings or girl time, stop on by!!  Check out Cathy’s site for more yummy food!

5. I’m trying so hard to get into a book again! I have so many that I want to dive into and yet when I go to sit down, reading is the last thing I seem to want to do. I don’t know why but I just cannot seem to focus.  I need to get back to my early morning routine and be more consistent…it’s so tricky but no more excuses! This is one that came through rather quickly on Libby, the FREE library app! Christina Lauren is a fantastic chic lit author and her books are usually so fun to read! I just need to make myself get a few pages in…

Have a great weekend friends! What are you cooking or reading these days?!  Give me some inspo!

Mother’s Day Weekend

Friday was a date day!! Yippeee!  Joe and I had a few things to do, but we were able take some much needed kid free time and enjoy ourselves as well.  We were able to use up some gift cards at the mall and found some amazing deals on shoes, and enjoyed a quick lunch at Champps.

After that we were excited to check out this place!  They have fun smoothies and drinks and you can add CBD to them.

I had this lovely lemon ginger elixir and picked up some almond butter with CBD.

The kiddos both gave me their mother’s day gifts early so they wouldn’t die! Brooke grew this sunflower at school and drew an adorable drawing on this bag.

Bradley had Joe come in as his special person and help him plant this for me.

I just love these little gifts!

We also hit up Walmart Friday for new bikes for the kiddos, had a Polish dinner at some friends and picked up some herbs for the Summer.  Joe planted the basil in this box.

I also grabbed a few hanging plants for our deck; pink is always my favorite!

The sun was out a bit Saturday and though it was chilly, it was nice!

I try to stick with semi-shade plants since we don’t get a ton of sun when the trees fill in.

I thought this planter was cute!

Joe planted some of these pansies from the preschool fundraiser; aren’t they so pretty?  He also left the house around 9:15 Saturday and ran errands until around 4pm–I was able to work on my blog, life coaching and catch up on some of the dishes etc.

More herbs!

For dinner we tried out some drumsticks in the smoker (they were okay) and I did a little caprese salad and naan pizzas.

Sunday we went over to to see my Step-mom and to our surprise, my step-brother Tyler had flown home for Mother’s Day!  I didn’t snap may photos, as we were all catching up etc. but I did grab one of my little guy and I.

And the one who made me a mommy!

We got home just in time for Joe to cook up some dinner; I was craving Sirloin burgers and man he didn’t disappoint!  Toasted Brioche buns, smoked bacon, avocado and an egg.

Dreams are made of this ladies and gentlemen!!

I was able to end my day with a little rosé and while I did read this book a bit, I also finished up The Alice Network audiobook.  I can’t wait until the sun comes back out and I can do some reading out on our gorgeous deck!!

It was a great mix of Joe & Jenn time, alone time and family time this weekend.  Never long enough, I always want everyone around just a little more!! This weather is supposed to warm up towards the end of the week, but I fear I may have to bring in all of my plants as I read/heard the SNOW word.  Goodness.

I hope you had a great weekend and an amazing week ahead!!
