Happy New Year and welcome to my brand new blog! I am so excited to be here and let me just tell you, what a work in progress this has been. Some of you may have followed my first blog that I began back in 2012. It was a beautiful little place for me to share my thoughts, family life, and whatever crossed my mind. But like most things, I decided that I was ready for something new.
This year I am 36 years old, turning 37 in July, and feel as though I have so much I want to share, explore and say. I needed a platform to call my own and I figured I couldn’t get any more personal than my own name. I live a very full life, but remind myself to always slow down and take a few moments to soak it all in. Maybe you’re someone who really runs at full speed 100% of the time (like me) and often times need a physical reminder to simmer down. Well friend, you are in the right space.
Each year the last few years I have chosen a “word” for the year.
This year my word is “Be.”
Yup, be. It is so simple and yet takes on so many different meanings…
I sometimes get all up in my head and instead of being in the present moment, I worry, stress, and get myself all worked up.
I’ve learned to take a deep breath and tell myself to just, be.
I also find myself chanting things like…
…be happy
…be grateful
…be smiling
…be stylish
…be present
…be mindful
…be strong
Clearly it has taken over my world and I’m just going with it.
I chose today as my official launch date because 10 years ago my husband Joe and I went on our second official date. It was a Friday night and he took me to Delmonico’s Steak House. He wined and dined me, and we shared our first kiss under a lamplight in the parking lot. It was there he later proposed to me on October 23, 2009.
January is a huge month for our family as years went on, both of our children were born as well! We could have never predicted this path, but God knows what he is doing and I am eternally grateful for all of his hard laid plans that come into action.
So as I start this new venture, what can you expect? For sure, a little of this, and a little of that.
I set a goal for myself this year to read 52 books in 2018. You’ll be hearing about those books!
I absolutely love cooking and eating really delicious foods; I’ll share recipes, restaurants and even some kid friendly meals. I truly believe mom is the heart of the home…while I am a modern 2018 woman, I am in someways a 1950’s housewife. Yes, I iron my husband’s clothes each and every morning and greet him at the door with a kiss even when he walks into the house at 10pm.
Fashion, style & beauty are some of my biggest passions. Feeling good on the inside is important, but there’s something about spending a little extra time on our appearance that truly helps with self-love and confidence. I love mixing high end with practical, so there will be something for everyone.
I take my health pretty seriously, and started going to the gym in the Fall, so I will share workouts and health hacks that have worked for me.
My husband and I own a real estate company, and it seems as though everyone loves to hear about the process of buying, fixing and selling homes. I hope to share some of our struggles, successes and give a little more of an insider perspective.
I also look forward to building upon some old friendships I made through blogging and creating new ones as well.
Cheers to an epic 2018!
This….all of this! I love it all! I love you!
